In the case that you require a revision to a previous bariatric surgery, our Surgical Weight Loss Institute, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network, will work with you to identify personalized procedures suited to your specific needs.

Schedule an appointment with one of our experienced bariatric surgeons, specializing in advanced weight loss surgery, to evaluate your original operation and learn if additional treatment is recommended.

What is a revision procedure?

A minimally invasive surgical option to modify or correct a previous bariatric surgery.

Weight loss surgery is the most effective treatment for obesity. However, there are instances where some patients may need revision surgery for limited weight loss, weight regain, unresolved medical condition or complications.

What is a conversion procedure?

A conversion procedure replaces a previous bariatric surgery with a different procedure.

Examples include replacing a Lap-band with a gastric sleeve or to a gastric bypass, or sleeve gastrectomy conversion to gastric bypass especially in patients with insufficient weight loss, severe reflux or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
