Same Day Services

Same Day Services

WMCHealth announces that elective outpatient ambulatory surgeries, office visits and medical tests have resumed at Good Samaritan Hospital, under an Executive Order from Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order allows for resumption of elective outpatient ambulatory surgical services -- those for which the patient enters and leaves a surgical facility on the same day, without an overnight stay -- based on the status of coronavirus impact, including a drop in COVID-19 cases in specific counties.

At Bon Secours Charity Health System, our patients’ health and safety are our top priority. As we expand our surgical services from the COVID-19 era, we are actively working to provide quality care to serve our patients, families, and staff.

Please read Our Patient Information for more detail on scheduling elective outpatient ambulatory procedures and tests, visitation and what to expect in preparing for a surgical procedure.

Bon Secours Community Hospital's renovated Same Day Surgery unit opened in November 2004; the location includes eight new telemetry beds for patients. We've also added a waiting room to accommodate our patients' family and friends. The telemetry beds are equipped with a comprehensive monitoring system that continuously records and wirelessly communicates vital patient information to a central monitor and computer workstation. The monitor and receiver keep track of patients in bed and walking around. The pre-operative and post-recovery areas have been expanded to allow for greater patient comfort and include an all new "step-down" recovery area. Now you can breathe easy knowing we're ready to take care of our community's surgical needs - gastroenterology, gynecology, ophthalmology and orthopedics - to name a few.

Surgery can be difficult for loved ones as well. But Bon Secours has taken steps to take the worry out of waiting. Our same-day surgery waiting area is located on the same floor and is dedicated to making family members comfortable; with plenty of seating, television, vending machines and a place to have a snack or read a newspaper.
